One of the great benefits of staying at a vacation rental or AirBNB is the ability to enjoy the full benefits of a home, including the kitchen. While Tuckahoe Bungalow’s kitchen includes many of the essentials you need during the day, including filtered water, pantry essentials, and local Rise Up Coffee, most guests staying for more than a couple days enjoy getting their own groceries or sometimes need to run to the local big-box store for a variety of items. Below find our local big-box stores, as well as some grocery options.
General
Walmart, Denton
Everyone knows Wally World, so not much a description needed here. There are two nearby: Denton and Easton, though Denton’s is closer and much nicer/bigger. There is a fairly robust grocery section here as well, and the Denton Walmart will deliver groceries and items direct to the door of Tuckahoe Bungalow when you place your order online.
Target, Easton
There are two Targets nearby: Easton and a brand new one on Kent Island in Stevensville. Easton is probably still the closer option, and a very nice store in a large shopping center which includes Dick’s Sporting Goods, Harris Teeter (below), BJ’s Warehouse, and other large chains. Groceries are available at Target as well as many home goods and apparel items.
Groceries
Food Lion, Denton
The closest supermarket to Tuckahoe Bungalow is the local Food Lion in Denton. While not a wide variety of items beyond your basic supermarket fare, they do have a little bit of everything and less crowded than Walmart nearby.
Aldi, Denton (opening soon) and Easton
Aldi will be opening their newest store in Denton shortly, which will allow for our guests to get quick access to low-priced staples. It is currently being built right next to Starbucks along Route 404. In addition, there is already an Aldi along Route 50 in nearby Easton if you like the brand and would prefer to shop there right away.
Harris Teeter, Easton
Probably the nicest local supermarket, Harris Teeter in Easton features a large variety of specialty goods, including a robust international section, quality meats and cheeses, as well as beer and wine. They are also the only place in the area to purchase dry ice, so if you are taking seafood or frozen goods home with you, Harris Teeter is a great stop to make sure everything stays frozen.
Piazza Italian Market, Easton
It’s hard to determine whether to call Piazza a restaurant or market, because it does both so well. Easton’s only Italian market, Piazza features an amazing variety of meats and cheeses, homemade pastas and dinners to be made at the bungalow, as well as prepared sandwiches, baked goods, and breads. They also sell a great selection of Italian wines and Other Half craft beer.
Tri-Me Warehouse Foods, Ridgely
The closest mini-market to Tuckahoe Bungalow, Tri-Me carries a variety of household staples, as well as beer, wine and liquor. An easy five-minute drive from the bungalow and a quick resource if missing an item or two (e.g. eggs in the morning, sandwich meat, etc.).
