Hoppy, smooth, dry, sweet, fruity, buttery, crisp–there are dozens of ways to describe your favorite pint of beer or glass of wine, and the Eastern Shore features many varieties to satisfy even the pickiest beer or wine drinkers. Below we’ll highlight some of our favorites near Tuckahoe Bungalow. And remember–drink responsibly. While there are minimal Uber/Lyft options and taxi services, they are not plentiful, so always plan to have a designated driver.
Breweries

Ten Eyck Brewing
- Distance from Bungalow: 8 miles (10 minutes)
- Featured Styles: Wide Variety
- Food?: Minimal; food truck on site on weekends
Ten Eyck is one of the newest breweries on the Eastern Shore, and has quickly become a local favorite for their wide variety of styles, friendly atmosphere, and great outdoor space. Anyone that enjoys beer is quick to find something here that they like. Woman and veteran-owned, they are a great company to support as well, and have great food trucks on weekends.
Check out Taildragger if you like IPAs and their thick sour series Pie.

Bull & Goat Brewery, Centreville
- Distance from Bungalow: 12 miles (18 minutes)
- Featured Styles: Belgian, IPA, variety
- Food?: Snacks; occasional food truck. Located downtown near other restaurants
Bull & Goat Brewery started as a local weekend project and has blossomed into a full-capacity brewery and distillery. Solid beer and a good band of locals. Walkable to several local restaurants (we like BBQ Bueno and Coliseum Pizza nearby).

RAR Brewing, Cambridge
- Distance from Tuckahoe Bungalow: 28 miles (38 minutes)
- Featured Styles: Out of Order sour series; IPAs
- Food?: Full menu (and quite good!). Located downtown near many eateries.
RAR has become synonymous with quality experimental beers, and has grown to become one of the top five producing breweries in Maryland. Very cool urban atmosphere, great food, and heavily attended events and releases make this a can’t-miss spot if heading to Cambridge.

Dogfish Head & Dewey Beer Co., Milton, DE
Up for a day trip…or at least an afternoon? We’d be remiss if we didn’t mention two of our favorite breweries: the godfather of craft beer (Dogfish Head) and our current favorite on Delmarva (Dewey Beer Co.).
- Distance from Tuckahoe Bungalow: about 1 hour
- Featured Styles: WIDE VARIETY
- Food?: No food at this Dewey location, though if you head to their original location in Dewey Beach they have a phenomenal menu
Wineries
Let me start by saying that overall, Maryland wine is not our cup of tea. We tend to prefer drier styles than Marylands lighter, fruitier wines, but the two wineries below feature a nice (albeit different) setting, as well as different varieties of wine.

Triple Creek Winery, Cordova
- Distance from Bungalow: 6 miles (10 minutes)
- Styles: Variety, sweeter
- Food? No food
The closest winery to the bungalow, Triple Creek is a great location to sample a variety of wines grown on site, as well as enjoy the beautiful vineyard setting. Keep an eye out for there many events throughout the year, including the Chesapeake Bay Balloon Festival, one of the largest hot-air balloon festivals around the Mid-Atlantic.

Casa Carmen Winery, Chestertown
- Distance from Bungalow: 28 miles (36 minutes)
- Styles: drier, variety
- Food?: Nice small plates menu. Located downtown near many eateries
Casa Carmen is an unusual winery in Maryland, in that they produce drier, very high quality wines from their vineyard in Pennsylvania. The owners also run the popular Wine Collective in Baltimore City. Enjoy a day in Chestertown and be sure to stop by Casa Carmen.
